How should I dispose of my packaging?Updated a month ago

Our mailers and poly bags are both certified home compostable. This means they’re designed to break down naturally in your home compost bin.

If you have a compost setup, simply remove any non-compostable materials from the bag and add it to your compost as a “brown” material. Under the right conditions, it will decompose in 90 to 120 days. Please note: while the bags themselves are compostable, our postage labels are currently not and should be removed before composting. We're actively working on compostable label options for the future.

No compost bin? Here are a few other options:

  • Check your local council’s website for a local garden waste collection centre
  • Look for a nearby composting facility
  • Ask a friend, family member or neighbour if they compost

If they do end up in landfill, the bags will still decompose, however the timeframe is very dependent on the environment. The greenest option is to compost where possible.

Our packaging is certified to meet Australian composting standards (AS4736 and AS5810-2010) and carries both the Seedling and Home Compostable logos.
