I applied for the Safe Drop option via MyPost - why was my parcel taken to the post office (Australia only)?Updated 9 hours ago
Safe dropping is always at the discretion of the Australia Post delivery driver.
Some addresses may not be deemed safe as they may not have an appropriate safe place for parcels to be left. For example, apartments or houses on busy roads that may be too exposed to passing traffic to be considered safe, or the parcel might be too exposed to weather conditions.
In these cases, parcels will be taken to the nearest Post Office or collection centre and you will be notified.
If this applies to you, you may like to consider using an Australia Post parcel locker. This is a convenient service offered within Australia that allows customers to pick up a parcel, collect a missed delivery or return a parcel, anytime, using a free 24/7 Parcel Locker. This ensures your parcels stay safe. Please note - parcels must be collected within 2 business days using this service. See more information here.
