Generally speaking, within Australia parcels usually require a signature on delivery, unless the customer otherwise organised directly with Australia Post. 

International orders do not require a signature on delivery. If you are not at home at the time of delivery, the courier may choose to leave your items in a location they deem to be safe. 

If you are concerned, it is recommended to have your parcels delivered to a location you feel is safe or where someone is most likely going to be home to accept the delivery.
